It has been an incredible honour to serve the people of Niagara Falls as your City Councillor for the past eight years. I am deeply grateful for the trust residents have placed in me, for the conversations we have shared and for the opportunity to work on behalf of the community we love.

After much thought and reflection, I have decided to take the next step and put my name forward as a candidate for Mayor. My love and appreciation for Niagara Falls has only grown stronger through my years of service, and I believe our community deserves leadership that listens, cares deeply, and puts residents at the heart of every decision. I am ready to bring my experience, passion and commitment to this new endeavour and I would be honoured to have your support. Our community deserves new leadership, and together we can make it happen.

Lori Lococo Enters Race for Mayor in Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls, ON — August 20, 2026

After eight years of dedicated service as a Niagara Falls City Councillor, Lori Lococo is announcing her candidacy for Mayor in the municipal election on Monday, October 26.

Throughout her time on Council, Lococo has earned a reputation for asking difficult questions, scrutinizing major decisions, and standing up for residents and taxpayers when she believes their interests are not being properly heard.

Lococo has shown the courage to vote against unaffordable tax increases and to challenge proposals that place added burdens on local households. She has also been prepared to speak out when residents’ priorities clash with development interests based outside Niagara Falls.

“Niagara Falls needs leadership that puts residents first,” said Lococo. “That means responsible spending, honest debate, and decisions driven by the needs of the people who actually live, work, and raise families here.”

Lococo said she is seeking the role of mayor because the city faces pivotal choices in the coming four years, including affordability, growth, infrastructure, and public confidence in local government.

“People want a City Hall that listens,” said Lococo. “They want transparency, accountability, and a council culture where different perspectives are welcomed rather than dismissed. I am ready to bring my experience, independence, and commitment to residents to the role of Mayor.”
