Advocating for transparency in government
Lori has long advocated for transparency in government. For City of Niagara Falls, there are 3 main categories:
- Customer service for the residents and businesses
- Activities of City Council and that information is available to the public
- Feedback and public participation
The City has implemented a new more highly responsive and co-ordinated customer service plan for residents and businesses – At Your Service Niagara Falls. It will be imperative to evaluate the performance and monitor the cost compared to the output.
It is important that residents have accessible avenues to ensure accountability with their City Council. With a background in Alternate Dispute Resolution, Lori has advocated for mediation as a process to address some of the Integrity Commissioner complaints. This could reduce some of the costs to the taxpayer.
More public inclusion is something that Lori has always advocated for. Public access to information is key. Feedback from the residents needs to be considered.
